About Myrna's Bakehouse

My love for baking began long before I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2015. As a child, I found pure joy in the kitchen, mixing up sweet creations and always sneaking a taste from the bowl before the batter transformed into something magical. Cupcakes quickly became my specialty, and they were the highlight of every family gathering, with my everyone in my family, especially my grandmother, proudly sharing them with everyone.

In the summer of 5th grade, my grandmother helped me with a special project on monarch butterflies, a memory that has stayed with me throughout my entire life. Monarchs are known to symbolize both transformation and growth, but in some cultures they also are considered to be a sign of a guardian angel watching over you. With a Monarch butterfly represented in the logo for my bakehouse, I symbolize her presence, a reminder that she’s always with me, especially when I’m baking.

When I learned I had Celiac Disease, it felt like a setback in my baking journey, but it soon became a new beginning. Determined not to let gluten take away my passion, I spent years perfecting gluten-free recipes that captured the same joy and flavor of my childhood favorites. Today, I'm thrilled to share my passion with others through my bakery, where I create flutter-worthy gluten-free cupcakes that bring joy to everyone, regardless of dietary restrictions. In a world with ready-made limited gluten-free options, I’m proud to offer something special, made with love and a touch of nostalgia, and always inspired by the memory of my grandmother and our shared love for monarch butterflies.
